Disappointment for Lewandowski and joy for Alaba
Austria: David Alaba
Austria and David Alaba had a fruitful international break. They managed to clinch two important results to get promoted to the first division of the UEFA Nations League. Austria finished first in Group one of UEFA Nations League B, three points ahead of Norway.
Alaba was rested for the friendly game against Luxembourg last week. The 28-year-old Bayern defender helped Austria to beat Northern Ireland and played an important role in the draw against Norway. Alaba gets a rare chance to play in the midfield as Austria uses him higher up the pitch. Die Roten will be pleased that Alaba returns safely to Munich as they gear up for a tight schedule before Christmas.

Poland: Robert Lewandowski
Poland had a difficult international break as they finished third in the Nations League group. Robert Lewandowski didn’t find the back of the net in three games as Poland suffered defeats against Italy and Netherlands. They did win against Ukraine in a friendly game last week.
Lewandowski had a minor injury ahead of the game against the Netherlands on Wednesday, but he shrugged it off to play 45 minutes. The Polish striker did set up Kamil Jozwiak in the first half against the Dutch team. It was a break to forget for Lewandowski, but he comes back to Munich in healthy condition, which is a big boost for the German Champions.
