Bayern Munich: Takeaways from smashing win against Atletico Madrid
Kingsley Coman responds strongly to competition in the squad
Kingsley Coman scored the winner in the CL final last season. He continued good form in the competition by scoring a brace against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday. The French winger was at his best throughout the game, causing problems for Kieran Trippier on the right flank.
The Paris born winger was operating on the left flank throughout his time on the pitch. He was giving the orders to provide the width and isolate Trippier. The Frenchman duly obliged and kept on isolating Trippier, beating him with his runs and dribbling.
The movement from Coman was also fantastic against Atletico Madrid. He timed the run to perfection for scoring the first goal. Coman has been often criticised for being wasteful in the final third, but he showed great awareness to find Goretzka for the goal.

The French international played the most key passes for Bayern on Wednesday. In terms of successful dribbles, he was only behind Lucas Hernandez. Overall, it was a complete performance from a winger as he was the biggest attacking threat for Die Roten. (Stats Courtesy: Whoscored)
Coman looks to have responded strongly to competition for places in the team. There has been a lot of talk about Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane forming a deadly duo like Robbery, putting less spotlight on Coman. However, the Frenchman has responded strongly on the pitch with a stunning performance on Wednesday. He has always insisted that healthy competition will be good for him, so this could be the season where Coman finally takes off and becomes a prolific winger.
