Predicted Starting XI for FC Bayern Munich

Flick will have to select a strong starting XI to beat Atletico Madrid. In the goal, the selection is very straightforward. Manuel Neuer has collected very few clean sheets this season, so he will be hoping to get the big one on Wednesday against strong opposition.

Niklas Sule has been consistently playing in central defense since recovering from knee injury. He is likely to start on Wednesday and partner David Alaba in the heart of the defense. Lucas Hernandez will get the start in the left-back position against his former club, while his compatriot- Benjamin Pavard will be deployed on the right side of the defense.

More from Bayern Strikes

Joshua Kimmich will be back in the central midfield for Die Roten. The German international will keep swapping roles with Leon Goretzka in the center of the park. Both players are versatile enough to play as number eight and number six. Depending on the game situation, one will sit deep while the other is the dynamic box to box midfielder.

Kingsley Coman will get the nod on the left flank, while Douglas Costa is likely to replace Gnabry on the right flank. The Brazilian winger made his second debut for Bayern last week in the DFB Pokal clash against FC Duren. Thomas Muller will play as the number ten, while Robert Lewandowski will lead the attacking line for European Champions.
