Bayern Munich: Oliver Batista Meier shines for Heerenveen

Bayern Munich’s Oliver Batista Meier scored on Saturday for his first goal on loan at Heerenveen.
One of the Bayern Munich players to watch on loan this season is Oliver Batista Meier. The 19-year-old winger is playing for Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie. On Saturday, Batista Meier scored his first goal since arriving in the Netherlands. He opened the scoring in Heerenveen’s 3-1 victory over Fortuna Sittard.
Shortly after scoring, he drew a penalty kick to make it a two-goal advantage. Batista Meier made a great run into the box and was taken down by the defender in the penalty area. His teammate Joey Veerman stepped up and dispatch the spot-kick.
Batista Meier played 69 minutes against Fortuna Sittard in his second appearance for Heerenveen. In their opening match against Willem II he played for 74 minutes in the winning effort. He’s been very impressive so far in his opening matches with Heerenveen. There are likely to be more goals to come from Batista Meier as he continues his loan period in the Eredivisie.
Others on loan
Sarpreet Singh was in action for Nürnberg on Friday in their first match of the 2.Bundesliga season. He was in the starting XI and played 69 minutes. Christian Früchtl was on the bench and did not enter the match. Elsewhere, Lars Lukas Mai started and played all 90 minutes in Darmstadt’s 3-2 loss on Saturday in the 2.Bundesliga. Mai had six clearances and a pass accuracy of 88% in the match against Sandhausen.

Bayern II in action
The youngsters took on Türkgücü München in the 3.Liga on Saturday. It ended in a 2-2 draw as the Bayern II season kicked off. The Bayern goals were scored by Adrian Fein and Timo Kern. Joshua Zirkzee registered an assist on Kern’s goal. Both Zirkzee and Jamal Muisala were in action for the reserves despite also featuring the night prior against Schalke. Next up for reserves will be Verl who they face next Saturday in the second match of the season.
U19 and U17 teams victorious
Both the U19 and U17 teams recorded victories in their first matches of the season. The U17 side defeated FSV Frankfurt 1-0 with Lucas Copado scoring the lone goal for Die Roten. Other highlights from the match included Goalkeeper Benjamin Ballis stopping a penalty kick in the first half and new arrival Barry Hepburn made his debut. The U17 team will face SC Freiburg next weekend.
It was a resounding victory for the U19 team as they won 8-0 over SSV Ulm. Christopher Scott led the way with a hat-trick. Other goal scorers included Jamie Lawerence, Luca Denk, Mamin Sanyang, Thorben Rhein, and Armindo Sieb. Next up for the U19 team is a match against Augsburg.
