Bayern Munich once again turn their attention to young Chelsea winger.
There are only three weeks left in the summer transfer window as clubs scramble across Europe to bolster squads ahead of a challenging campaign. Bayern Munich is also expected to be active in the transfer window as the search for right-back and winger is set to continue.
After parting ways with Ivan Perisic, Die Roten want a wide player in the first team. Hansi Flick wants perfect balance in wide areas by having four players fighting it out for two positions. The latest murmurs from Germany suggest that Rekordmeister might turn to an old transfer target to fill the void left by Perisic.
According to Sky Sports, Bayern have touched bases with agents of Callum Hudson-Odoi. The German Champions are interested in doing a loan deal with an option to buy, but they are yet to contact Chelsea to start negotiations. This report also insists that Die Roten will face competition from Juventus and RB Leipzig for the signature of Hudson-Odoi.
The European Champions made multiple bids for Hudson-Odoi in January 2019. The German club were eager to sign him in the winter market. Hudson-Odoi was also eager to seal a move to Bavaria as he drafted a transfer request to force a transfer. Chelsea didn’t budge, and Hudson-Odoi remained at the club beyond the winter transfer window.

Die Roten focussed on signing Leroy Sane last summer and shelved plans to sign the English winger. Hudson-Odoi went on to sign a new contract with Chelsea after Maurizio Sarri parted ways with the club last summer.
It was a difficult season for Hudson-Odoi under Frank Lampard. He struggled with injuries and form. Considering the amount of attacking signings made by Chelsea this summer, Hudson-Odoi will find it difficult to get regular playing time in the upcoming campaign. The English forward was on the bench against Brighton last night, even when the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic were absent from the squad.
Hudson-Odoi will be better placed to get a decent amount of game time in Bavaria, considering the fact that the German champions will be fighting for six trophies next season. Moreover, Hansi Flick is expected to rotate the squad next season since fixtures are going to cramped up in less number of days.
The 19-year-old winger will have only three players to fight for a place in the first team, which is considerably less than what he will have to do at Chelsea. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be open to sanctioning a loan move. From Die Roten’s perspective, this transfer will make a lot of sense.
