Bayern Munich show interest in Arsenal defender
Bayern Munich is reportedly monitoring the developments of Hector Bellerin at Arsenal.
The defensive overhaul at Bayern Munich is set to be completed this summer. The German Champions have enough options in central defense and left-back position, but there is a dire need of another right-back to provide cover for Benjamin Pavard.
Hector Bellerin is the latest right-back linked with a move to Bavaria. According to Football.London, Bayern Munich are also showing interest in Bellerin. The German club will face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the Spaniard as the Guardian reports that the French club has already made an opening offer for the defender.
Bellerin has been a regular player for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta. However, the English club would be looking to raise funds for other transfers since they are well stacked in the right-back position. Die Roten will have to move quickly if they want to sign Bellerin.
The Spanish full-back had endured a difficult couple of seasons with injuries since breaking into the senior team at Arsenal. His form dipped after recovering from serious injuries, but he started to find a way back to his best under Arteta this year.

Bellerin is an attacking full-back who provides impetus in the final third with his darting runs and good passing range. His immense pace helps him to make recovery tackles. There is a lot of scope of improvement in the defensive aspect of his game, but his best years are ahead of him as he turned 25 this year.
Die Roten would ideally like a cheaper option in the right-back position. Bellerin could prove to be an expensive signing if two clubs get into a bidding war. However, the Spaniard has the potential to be a valuable full-back for Rekordmeister. It remains to be seen whether the initial interest materializes to a better bid than PSG in the coming days.
The need for a new right-back was amplified during the knockout rounds of the Champions League last month. Joshua Kimmich delivered top performances in the absence of Pavard, but he is a valuable asset in the midfield. An attacking full-back on the right side of defense will also allow Pavard to play in his preferred central defensive position next season.
Sergino Dest has been heavily linked with a move to Bavaria in 2020. Apart from Dest, Norwich City’s Max Aarons has also reportedly emerged as an option for this position. Considering the financial implications of the pandemic, Die Roten will be looking to get a quality right-back for a marginal fee.
