Mickael Cuisance will be a key player for Bayern Munich next season.

After a hugely successful campaign, Bayern Munich will start focusing on improving the team for next season. They have maintained domestic dominance over the last eight seasons, but they will need something extra to defend the Champions League title.

There are likely to be a flurry of departures from the first team in the coming weeks. Philippe Coutinho has already said goodbyes to the club after a hugely successful one year loan in Bavaria. Thiago Alcantara is also expected to leave since he wants to experience a new adventure. Die Roten is also ready to listen to offers for Javi Martinez this summer.

So many departures in the midfield may affect the team next season. The club has already ruled out making big money signings after completing the deal for Leroy Sane. To compensate these departures, the likes of Mickael Cuisance and Adrian Fein are likely to get more playing time next season.

According to Kicker (via IMIASANMIA), Cuisance is likely to be the deputy for Thomas Muller next season in the number ten role. The Frenchman has been heavily linked with loan move lately, but assigning him this role would be a step in the right direction for his development.

More from Bayern Strikes

Cuisance had a frustrating debut campaign in Bavaria, as he has struggled to get playing time for the first team. He has been playing regularly with the reserves team to keep his match rhythm on track. After the lockdown, his fortunes change for good as Flick gave him minutes on the pitch, including few starts.

In the games where he started in central midfield, Cuisance tried hard to impress, and often his passing was erratic. Flick decided to give him opportunities in attacking midfield role at the end of the Bundesliga. This move turned out to be a confident booster for the Frenchman as he impressed in this position, scoring the first goal for the senior team.

Next season is going to be hectic since the season is starting late but ending at the usual time. In such a tight schedule, squad rotation will be key for Rekordmeister to compete on all fronts and avoid serious injuries. Cuisance will benefit from this situation, and he should be aiming 25-30 appearances with 15 starts next season across all competitions.

In normal circumstances, Die Roten would have gone ahead with their plans to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen to replace Coutinho. The German international is on his way to Chelsea, so next season will be huge for Cuisance in this attacking midfield role. He has all the talent to succeed. If things fall in place for him next season, then he will end up becoming an important player for the European Champions.
