Bayern Munich has big hopes from Adrian Fein for next season.

The preparations for the important Champions League games began at Bayern Munich last week. Players reported at Sabner Strasse after a brief break of two weeks since the conclusion of the domestic campaign, retaining Bundesliga title and DFB Pokal.

Die Roten is currently preparing for next week’s game against Chelsea at Allianz Arena. Along with first-team players, new arrivals also started training with the first team. Leroy Sane, Tanguy Kouassi and Alexander Nubel completed their moves to Bavaria in July.

Along with the new arrivals, Adrian Fein also started training with the first team. The German midfielder was on loan at Hamburg last season. After enjoying good performances in the second division, Fein was offered a new contract at Bayern in January.

The German midfielder is likely to be part of the first team next season. Speaking to club’s website, Hasan Salihamidzic insisted that the club has big hopes for Fein next year. The young midfielder also admitted that it had been a good experience in the training session with senior players of the squad.

"“Adrian is very talented. He trained with us and has also developed very well in his first two years as a pro. Now we hope that he will take the next big step in his career with us in Munich.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Fein primarily operates in a deeper role, but he can also play as a central midfielder too. He largely featured as number six during his loan spell at Hamburg. The German midfielder may struggle to play in that position regularly in Bavaria since Joshua Kimmich has nailed down this role this season with consistent performances.

However, there will be plenty of opportunities to play in the midfield since the future of numerous senior midfielders is uncertain. Thiago Alcantara has already told the club that he wants to experience a new adventure. Javi Martinez also looks likely to leave while Corentin Tolisso could also part ways with the club.

Fein will have to be patient for his chances as Flick rarely rotates his first team. The German midfielder and Mickael Cuisance are the future of the club, so next season could be an important part of their development. The Frenchman also had a frustrating debut season in Bavaria, but he ended the campaign with promising performances.

Despite his lack of rotation this season, Flick has shown that he can give young players opportunities. The development of Alphonso Davies and Joshua Zirkzee under him is a testament to his work with young players. Fein has the talent to succeed in Bavaria and the upcoming season comes at a crucial juncture of his career.
