Bayern Munich is reportedly eager to sign Eduardo Camavinga in summer.

The transfer rumours are getting intense after all top leagues in Europe concluded apart from Serie A. Bayern Munich is currently focussing on the Champions League, but they are still expected to make a couple of signings in summer after clinching the transfers of Tanguy Kouassi and Leroy Sane.

Midfield has emerged the area of concern for Die Roten as at most three midfielders are expected to leave the club this summer. The reports in Germany have suggested that Rekordmeister is looking to sign one midfielder in the ongoing transfer window.

According to AS, Bayern is trying hard to convince Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to move to Bavaria this summer. The 17-year-old French midfielder has been touted as the best midfield player in his age group. Real Madrid had been heavily linked with Camavinga, but the Spanish club is unlikely to make any big signing this summer due to pandemic.

As per this report, Die Roten face competition from Paris-Saint Germain for the young French midfielder. Rennes reportedly wants a club record €80 million fee for the teenager due to his talent and potential.

More from Bayern Strikes

Camavinga can operate as a central midfielder and defensive midfielder. The Frenchman made 36 appearances across all competitions for Rennes this season. He can dominate duels in the midfield and boasts an expansive passing range. He stands out in midfield at top-flight in Ligue 1 at the age of 16, dominating senior midfielders with ease. Die Roten would love to have a talent like Camavinga at their disposal. They have benefitted from signing Alphonso Davies at a very young age as he is currently one of the most devastating left-backs in Europe. Similarly, Camavinga has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in Europe by the time he ends his teenage years.

Having said that, the transfer fee will be the biggest hindrance for Die Roten if they have a genuine interest in signing Camavinga. The German champions have insisted that they are unlikely to make any more big-money signings after sealing the deal for Sane.

Camavinga will be a terrific signing, one for the present and future. It will be a big surprise if Die Roten completes this transfer, though. They have also been linked with numerous other midfielders, but most of them have been swap deals. One thing is looking certain by every passing day that Rekordmeister will surely add a midfielder to the squad this summer.
