Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman linked with a move to Manchester United.
The transfers have already started taking shape for German clubs after the Bundesliga concluded at the start of July. The English transfer window is set to open from Monday. Ahead of the start of the window in Premier League, one Bayern Munich player has been linked with a big move to England.
According to The Athletic (subscription needed), Manchester United are interested in signing Kingsley Coman from Bayern. The English outlet reports that United have held talks with Coman. However, Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho remains the English club’s priority target. As per this report, Coman is also interested in moving to Old Trafford.
Christian Falk, the go-to man for transfer news regarding Die Roten, insisted that the German club has no plans to part ways with Coman. He also admitted that there had been no talks held between United and Die Roten regarding this transfer.
Coman has endured yet another frustrating campaign with Die Roten due to inconsistent form and injuries. However, the Frenchmen did end the domestic season strongly with a goal and assist against Wolfsburg. He still has a lot to improve with his decision making in the final third.

Earlier this season, reports were suggesting that Manchester City are interested in signing Coman. Pep Guardiola reportedly wanted Coman to replace Leroy Sane who eventually moved to Bavaria. Manchester City were eager to involve Coman in this deal, but Die Roten had no intention to sanction Coman’s departure.
In France, there were suggestions that Coman could be handed a new deal to extend his stay in Bavaria. The Frenchman was pumped up to take more responsibility this season after Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery left the club next summer. He also insisted that competition at the club doesn’t worry him at all.
Since Ivan Perisic is likely to go back to Inter Milan and Die Roten have no big plans to make big-money signings, it will be a big surprise to see Coman leave Bavaria this summer. The Frenchman will get an ample amount of playing time despite the arrival of Sane.
Having said that, Coman needs to achieve a good level of consistency in his performances. Healthy competition may work in his favour and help him in elevating his game to the next level. For now, he will surely stay in Bavaria, but if performances don’t pick up, then Die Roten may consider selling him in future.
