Bayern Munich start summer spending with a bang
Bayern Munich is showing intent by sealing big deals for next season.
With the conclusion of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich is currently focussing on the weekend’s DFB Pokal final against Bayer Leverkusen. The German club will be looking to successfully retain another domestic trophy after enjoying a dominating Bundesliga campaign.
The Bavarians don’t stand still as they always look to improve an already competitive squad. At the end of June, they have already sent a statement across Europe by clinching signings of Tanguy Kouassi and Alexander Nubel.
Nubel completed the remaining formalities of the transfer as his arrival was already announced in January. The German goalkeeper arrives at the club after running down his contract at Schalke. Nubel is tipped to be the long term replacement of Neuer after impressing for Schalke in the Bundesliga over the last two seasons.
Meanwhile, Kouassi also arrives on free transfer but from a much bigger European rival, Paris-Saint Germain. The French defender is one of the best defenders in his age group. Thomas Tuchel had given his first-team debut at PSG this season. The German manager was disappointed after Kouassi decided to move on by not signing a new contract.

These two young players will not have a big role next season, but they are transfers for the future. The club is slowly building a young squad, and these two players will eventually become an important part of the squad. Moreover, the club did a phenomenal job at convincing them to join on free transfers, beating the competition from other top European clubs.
Along with these two transfers, Die Roten also made a big breakthrough in their pursuit of Leroy Sane. According to The Guardian, Bayern has finally agreed €49 million transfer fee for Sane along with €11 million in bonuses. Other media outlets in Germany and England have confirmed this agreement. Sane is expected to undergo his medical in Bavaria this week.
Sane has been Die Roten’s top target to improve their attacking options. They came close to signing him last summer, but a serious injury delayed the inevitable. However, one year down the lane, they have managed to sign the German winger for less than half of the transfer fee Manchester City was demanding last summer.
These three signings do complete a big chunk of Die Roten’s business in the summer transfer window. The German club reportedly wants a right-back after Alvaro Odriozola failed to impress during his loan spell. Ajax defender Sergino Dest has been heavily linked with the club, and the teenager has already confirmed Die Roten’s interest in him.
With a right-back, it will conclude a phenomenal summer transfer window considering the effect of the pandemic on the window. The German champions cannot be ruled out from making a big push for Kai Havertz since Bayer Leverkusen failed to qualify for the Champions League. A strong start to the summer transfer window shows that Bayern is not resting on their laurels as they want to become the strongest team in Europe.
