Bayern Munich should brace for bids from Manchester City for star players.

Bayern Munich will be looking to sign big players in the summer transfer window. After a successful Bundesliga campaign, Die Roten should also expect big clubs to come in for their players. Manchester City is the first club to show interest in Bavarian stars.

According to Footmercato, Manchester City is eager to sign Kingsley Coman in summer to replace departing Leroy Sane. The German winger is heavily linked with a move to Bayern this summer. Pep Guardiola, Man City manager, was the one who brought Coman during his last season in Bavaria.

Coman is unfazed by the competition he will face at the club next season. The French media outlet insists that the 24-year-old winger is happy at the German club. There have been reports in Germany suggesting that Die Roten may soon open contract talks with the French winger.

The French media outlet also insists that the former English champions are also interested in Thiago Alcantara. The Spanish midfielder is reportedly not keen on extending his contract in Bavaria despite agreeing to the fresh terms at the start of May.

More from Bayern Strikes

Meanwhile, The Athletic (subscription needed) reported on Monday that Man City would be open to doing a swap deal with Die Roten involving Sane and David Alaba. However, the German club considers Alaba as a key player in the squad. If Rekordmeister fails to agree on a contract extension with Alaba, then they would be ready to lose him on free transfer next summer.

Thiago has become the creative spark in midfield for Die Roten under Flick. Coman still needs to improve, but he is yet to enter the peak years of his career. The French winger is likely to get even better with the arrival of Sane. Alaba has cemented his place in central defense this season, and he is likely to continue there, courtesy of rapid development of Alphonso Davies in the left-back position.

Die Roten has repeatedly reached a deadlock in negotiations with Man City for Sane. The English club will be looking to use this opportunity to get one of these players. However, Rekordmeister needs to stand firm and should wait till next summer to sign Sane on a free transfer, since he has reportedly agreed to a five year-contract already.

Selling top players to a European rival has come back to haunt Die Roten in the past. Toni Kroos joined Real Madrid in 2014 when he had only one year left on his contract in Bavaria. All these three players that Man City is showing interest will significantly improve them, so Bayern should reject all offers for them in the summer transfer window.
