Uli Hoeness has backed Bayern Munich to enjoy domestic domination for years.

Bayern Munich lifted their eighth Bundesliga title on Saturday after hammering four goals past Wolfsburg. Die Roten were officially champions a week ago with the win against Werder Bremen, ending the campaign by a huge 13 points lead over second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

It was the second consecutive season where Rekordmiester had to stage a comeback in the second half of the season to clinch the title. Hansi Flick managed to get the best out of the squad after a shaky start to the campaign under Niko Kovac. The Croatian manager parted ways with the club in November.

Die Roten ended the campaign on the back of a 20 game unbeaten run under Flick. The German club dropped points only once during this run during a goalless draw against RB Leipzig at Allianz Arena in February.

The sheer domination by Flick’s men attracted plaudits from everywhere in Germany. In an interview with Blickpunkt Sport (via Goal), Uli Hoeness insisted that Die Roten are well equipped to continue domination in the Bundesliga. He also insisted that the rival clubs need to put more effort in to challenge Rekordmeister for the Bundesliga title.

"“It will be difficult for the others to match us in the future because Bayern is well equipped for the future, even in this coronavirus crisis.”“You can’t expect people at Bayern Munich to work only half a day to make the Bundesliga exciting again.”"

Along with getting results, Flick has also improved the team’s style of play. They press aggressively and show much more efficiency in the final third. Flick’s men are also good at managing games and adapt different tactics based on the game situation. Die Roten also know how to grind out results when they are having a bad day.

Flick has also won the dressing room in very little time. The players have completely bought into his approach towards games. There is still room for improvement in terms of squad rotation under Flick, but he had done a remarkable job in getting all players on his side. Along with good showing on the pitch, these small details has helped the team to become a much stronger unit.

Die Roten will be looking to get much better next season by investing in top players during the summer transfer window. They look certain to complete the transfer of Leroy Sane from Manchester City, while there is a strong interest in Ajax defender Sergino Dest. These two signings will further bolster the squad to be much better next season.

After lifting the Bundesliga title, Flick will be focusing on DFB Pokal. Die Roten is set to face Bayer Leverkusen in the cup final on Saturday. The season doesn’t end there as Rekordmeister have a chance for European glory as Champions League is set to be concluded through a mini-tournament in Portugal during August. A season that started on a sour note could see a grand finish for the German club.
