Scope of improvement for Bayern Munich

Under Hansi Flick, Bayern have seen a resurgence, and the team looks poised to be a force in Germany for years to come. However, there is plenty of scope of improvement to become the best team in Europe. Sure they look unstoppable right now, but what happens if they have to come up against Manchester City or Paris Saint Germain, a team with real attacking quality? The squad still needs to add quality to the squad to become a force.

Can Jerome Boateng really compete with likes of Mbappe or Messi? Hansi Flick plays with a very high line. Although the team has looked very good with it, they haven’t gone up against a team with elite world-class players who are capable of breaking that line and punishing the team.

Will Niklas Sule return to his former form and regain that starting spot? What happens with David Alaba‘s contract situation? He is a club legend, but will he be around for the next couple of seasons? These are all questions that need to be answered this summer to see ou this transition period.

More from Bayern Strikes

Lastly, on squad planning, there still needs to be work done on the transfer of Leroy Sane. Circumstances around the world have already driven the price down of the German winger, opening a possibility of a cut-price deal. The board needs to make this happen this summer, and not wait for another year.

Bayern is a huge club and can have the benefit of waiting, but if they are really serious about winning the Champions League, they need a player of his quality as soon as possible. Don’t wait for him to run down the deal since nothing is certain in football, and Sane may have his head turned in one year.
