Thomas Muller breaking assist record in Bundesliga for Bayern Munich
Thomas Muller has been the biggest success story under Hansi Flick. The German forward was reportedly considering his future at the club in October, but Flick’s appointment completely changed the situation for Muller.
After Niko Kovac’s departure, Muller was reinstated in the starting lineup. He got an extended run in his favourite number ten position. The German forward became the creative fulcrum under Flick, stretching defenses with his clever movement and delivering the killer pass to create goals for other forwards.

Muller currently has 20 assists to his name in the Bundesliga. It has been his best season for Die Roten since Pep Guardiola left the club in 2016. He is not scoring frequently, but still has an equally important role in the team. The German leads the press for the team and brings the intensity that rubs off on other players.
There is still some confusion about Bundesliga’s assist record. Some sources say that Muller needs one more assist to break the record, while some say that he has already breached the record set by Kevin De Bruyne during his time in Wolfsburg. It will be better for Muller to set things right by getting one more assist, and he has two games to do that.
