Predicted starting XI for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich has the chance to wrap up the title soon, so Flick is unlikely to make any big changes to the starting XI on Saturday. Maintaining consistency in the lineup has been one of the biggest reasons behind Flick’s success at the club.

Manuel Neuer continues to collect clean sheets due to his and the team’s solid defensive structure. Jerome Boateng and David Alaba will continue to pair up in the central defense. The defensive duo was flawless against Dortmund on Tuesday. Benjamin Pavard and Alphonso Davies will occupy the full-back positions.

More from Bayern Strikes

In the absence of Thiago, the midfield partnership of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka has flourished. Goretzka has been the aggressor in the midfield, slotting in a deeper role than his usual number ten position. Meanwhile, Kimmich has been using his expansive passing range to dictate the tempo of the game.

Thomas Muller was quiet against Dortmund, but he still provides the much-needed intensity in the final third. The German forward will play as number ten against Dusseldorf, flanked by Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman. The French winger is struggling for form, but Flick is likely to stick with him for the time being. Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for hosts, looking to break the duck against this Bundesliga side.
