Team news for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich is set to be without Thiago Alcantara for the third game in a row. The Spanish midfielder is struggling with an adductor injury, and he is yet to start training with the first team. Hansi Flick will be hoping that he returns to fitness before their DFB Pokal semi-final clash.

In the pre-match press conference, Flick confirmed that injured players are recovering well. Philippe Coutinho is likely to be the first player to make a complete recovery and return to the squad. The Brazilian suffered a serious injury while training in April.

Meanwhile, Niklas Sule is also approaching complete fitness. The German defender has been out of action for more than six months due to anterior cruciate ligament injury. Die Roten should ease Sule back into action since this is a serious injury, and relapse will be a big setback for the player.

Corentin Tolisso is the long term absentee for Die Roten, but Flick insisted that the French midfielder is taking steps in the right direction for his recovery. Javi Martinez made his first appearance since December against Dortmund. The Spaniard will get more opportunities before the end of the season, as this is likely to be his last campaign in Bavarian colours.
