Hasan Salihamidzic praises young German players of Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich completed a league double over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, courtesy of a moment of brilliance from Joshua Kimmich. The German midfielder ran the show in the midfield for Die Roten at Signal Iduna Park.

Kimmich has been the product of Rekordmeister’s effective transfer policy, which involves signing the best German talent. It was not a surprise that three outfield players against Dortmund have established themselves for Die Roten and the national team at a very young age.

Leon Goretzka complimented Kimmich in the midfield effectively, kept the game ticking with simple and efficient passing. Serge Gnabry was relentless in the final third, exploiting space behind Achraf Hakimi to give Die Roten an edge while going ahead. The club also has Niklas Sule in their squad, who is one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga.

All three young German players were well supported by the experience of Jerome Boateng, Manuel Neuer, and Thomas Muller. Speaking to SportBild, Hasan Salihamidzic praised these young German players and insisted that every successful Bayern team has a strong group of German internationals.

"“Whenever FC Bayern shaped an era and was very successful, there was a strong tribe of German players who also controlled the atmosphere in the cabin.”“It’s no coincidence that Joshua, Serge, Leon, Niklas play with us. They are the players who shape their generation.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

All these players are yet to enter the prime of their careers, which further strengthens the idea of signing more young German players in the next couple of transfer windows. Die Roten has already secured a possible replacement for Manuel Neuer by sealing the deal to sign Alexander Nubel from Schalke in the summer.

The defending Bundesliga champions are also heavily linked with a move for Manchester City winger Leroy Sane. Die Roten patiently waited last summer to sign the young German winger from the English club, only for Sane to suffer a serious injury in August. The club decided to sign stop gap players in Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho, and wait for Sane next summer.

Along with signing the best German talent, Die Roten has been smart with signing the best young talents from other leagues. The success story of Alphonso Davies is the outcome of tremendous scouting and faith in young players. Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard are also likely to end up being successful signings for Rekordmeister.

After the departures of veteran players last summer, Bavarians are slowly building a squad that can help them to dominate domestic competitions and European competitions. The previous generation of top German talent propelled them to treble in 2013, and now the latest bunch of young players are also on the right track to achieve similar success.
