Bayern Munich showing interest in West Ham’s teen star
Bayern Munich continues to focus on top talents in Europe as they keep a close on West Ham’s Benicio Boaitey.
The recruitment in the first team at Bayern Munich may have raised eyebrows in the past couple of seasons, but the club’s aggressive approach at the youth level has been close to perfection. Die Roten is set to continue the trend in summer as they keep a close eye on a bright English talent.
According to Sport1, Bayern Munich is interested in West Ham’s 16-year-old forward, Benicio Baker Boaitey. Apart from Die Roten, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Manchester United are closely monitoring the forward’s situation.
The report also insists that Boaitey has rejected a professional contract from West Ham and could be on the move in summer. The English club is likely to get a compensation fee if Boaitey joins any other European club in the summer transfer window.
Boaitey is an attacking player that has played at various age groups for West Ham. He has three appearances to his name in the U-18 Premier League. Apart from West Ham, Boaitey has also represented England at lower age groups. (Stats courtesy: Transfermarkt)

Currently, English clubs have some of the best young talents in Europe. However, the path to the first team is tricky for these young players. Jadon Sancho was struggling to get into the first-team squad at Manchester City, but eventually a move Borussia Dortmund has allowed him to showcase his talent at the top level.
Ademola Lookman and Reece Oxford are other young English talents that have moved to Bundesliga in the past few seasons. Die Roten is also exploring the opportunities to bring the best British talent to the club. They made various bids for Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi last year, while few reports were linking the club with Rabbi Matondo.
Apart from closely monitoring British talent, Die Roten is also looking at the best teen talent across the globe. They made some impressive signings for the reserves team last summer. Sarpreet Singh arrived from Wellington Phoenix, while Leon Dajaku moved to Bavaria from Stuttgart. The club has already completed the signing of Armindo Sieb from Hoffenheim.
Hansi Flick has been brave to give opportunities to Joshua Zirkzee this season. The club will also have to go in line with Flick’s brave approach to develop young talent and integrate them slowly into the first team. A proper blend of stars and young players is the ideal recipe for achieving sustainable success on the pitch.
