Mickael Cuisance has no regrets about moving to Bayern Munich from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer.

Bayern Munich has been unfortunate with a couple of midfielders in the past few seasons. The club has struggled to integrate Renato Sanches in the first team and give him enough time to develop into a dynamic midfielder. Mickael Cuisance, Sanches’ replacement, has been going through a similar frustrating spell at the club.

Die Roten moved swiftly to sign Cuisance from Borussia Monchengladbach after Sanches left the club last summer to join Lille. The French midfielder had reportedly forced a move to Die Roten as the club focussed on signing young players to build a new squad.

Things were on track for Cuisance when he sealed a move to Bavaria. However, everything had not gone his way since holding the Die Roten kit when he was unveiled as Bayern player in front of media. The Frenchman has struggled to get playing time in the first team.

Since his playing time has been below par this year, Cuisance has been linked with a loan transfer away from the club. Speaking to Eurosport (via 4-4-2.com), Cuisance insists that he wants to flourish in Bavaria. The French midfielder does not regret moving to the club last summer.

"“I don’t regret my decision. Why should I regret having moved to the best club in the world? It is still a dream to learn from all the stars at Bayern.”“I came to watch. When my time comes, I will be ready to show my qualities. At the moment I am only focused on the end of the season with Bayern. We still have three titles to win. I don’t have time to deal with a possible loan. I have to take my chance when I get it.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Hasan Salihamidzic had praised Cuisance’s work ethic in training. The club’s sporting director insisted that the French midfielder is the future of the club, and he will eventually get a chance to display his talent on the pitch for the first team. With injuries to Philippe Coutinho and Corentin Tolisso and an increase in the number of substitutes, Cuisance should be getting few opportunities in the next few weeks.

Die Roten should be looking to give Cuisance more chances next season. If Tolisso leaves Bavaria, then the club should put some faith in his compatriot. Racking up 25 appearances across all competitions should be the target for Cuisance to continue his development.

Rekordmeister made numerous mistakes while managing Sanches. Learning from those mistakes is essential. If the club cannot guarantee Cuisance regular playing time, then they should try to arrange a loan move where he can play regularly and continue his development. Buying young talent is a step in the right direction, but having a proper plan for their development is even more important.
