Getting team chemistry back on track
Bayern were enjoying a great run of form before Bundesliga was suspended at the start of March. The defending champions are yet to lose a game across all competitions in 2020. They were demolishing teams in the league, stamping authority in almost every game they played this year.
The football suspension halted Die Roten’s momentum, so Flick has a job on his hand to get the squad back to playing high intense football that they were playing before the break. There is very little margin for error as the defending champions only have a four-point lead at the top of the table.

Moreover, the squad is yet to train together. At the start of April, players were training in small groups. The size of these groups was increased later, but the team is likely to train together next week. With very little training together, Flick will have to speed up the process of building the playing chemistry in the squad.
Moreover, players will be rusty after not playing games for such a long time. Flick has been praised for his astute man-management on various occasions. He will have to carefully manage every player to make sure that their confidence is not affected due to few rusty performances. Strong team chemistry will be needed to retain the Bundesliga title, so Flick’s coaching abilities will be firmly tested in the next five weeks.
