Bayern Munich is reportedly going to eye a move for another highly-rated teenage Scottish talent.
The lockdown has allowed clubs to think about their summer transfer plans. Bayern Munich will be looking to improve their first-team squad in the summer transfer window. The German club is also expected to continue adding top young talent to their reserves squad.
According to Daily Record, Die Roten has joined the race to sign Aaron Hickey from Hearts. This report insists that Bayern has been following Hickey during the lockdown. A host of numerous clubs are showing strong interest in Hickey as the 17-year-old defender has impressed for Hearts’ senior team.
Hickey had made 30 appearances for Hearts across all competitions. The teenager can operate across all positions in defense, but his best position is left-back. He has managed to score one goal and create one for Hearts this season. (Stats courtesy: Transfermarkt)
Hearts may look to cash in for Hickey this summer as his current contract is set to expire at the end of the 2020/21 campaign. Die Roten will have to pay a nominal fee for him if they decide to back up their strong interest with a bid when the summer transfer window opens.

Rekordmeister improved their youth team last summer by signing Liam Morrison from Celtic. The German club has been actively looking to sign the world’s best talents to improve the youth teams and reserve team. Die Roten had reportedly completed the signing of highly-rated German forward Armindo Sieb from Hoffenheim last month.
This aggressive approach of signing the best young players will help the club to cope with the post coronavirus transfer market. These young players, if developed properly, can go on to become an important part of the first team in a few seasons. Talents such as Hickey have shown already that they can cope with the pressure of playing with the senior team at a very young age.
Hansi Flick has been supportive of integrating youth players in the first team this season. The German manager has been brave enough to throw young players like Joshua Zirkzee in the deep end, when his team was fighting against odds for victory. Zirkzee’s involvement with the first team and Alphonso Davies‘ rise will be a promising sign for youth players and young players that Die Roten approach in summer.
Meanwhile, Rekordmeister has announced that they will no longer have U9 and U10 teams from the 2020/21 season. The club wants to give kids from those age groups to explore other sports to continue their development.
