Reliving an enthralling Champions League encounter between Bayern Munich and Juventus in 2016.

Since football has come to a standstill for more than a month now, news has been coming very slowly. It has been an eventful couple of weeks for Bayern Munich as they have been focussing on sorting out contracts of important players.

Transfer rumors have remained at the forefront, but there’s only so much one can discuss repeated reports linking Leroy Sane, Timo Werner, and Kai Havertz to Bavaria. There are conflicting reports on their possible transfer to Die Roten every alternate day.

To cope with the absence of football in life, reliving some of the iconic Bayern matches from the past is a good way to kill time. It is an incredibly fun exercise, especially when those matches have different coaches at the helm, and one can thoroughly understand the various tactical nuances.

So until the Bundesliga resumes and Rekordmeister start dominating again, it is a good time to look back at previous matches and reflect on some brilliant team and individual performances. This won’t necessarily be takeaway pieces as those focus more in-the-moment and towards the future. Instead, this series will just be some thoughts in hindsight of the particular match and the team as a whole.
