Bayern Munich 4-0 Borussia Dortmund

Hansi Flick arrived at Bayern in summer. After working as an assistant coach under Kovac, the German was under the spotlight as the club hierarchy appointed him as the caretaker manager. In his first game as manager, Die Roten were rusty, but they got the job done against Olympiakos at Allianz Arena.

His second and possibly last game as manager was against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. The club chiefs had a two-week break after this game due to international break. They were expected to decide on the new manager during this break.

More from Bayern Strikes

Flick got his team ready perfectly for Der Klassiker, and the team went on to deliver their best performance of the season. They clinched all three points in some style, putting four goals past Roman Burki. A dominating performance against their archrivals helped in setting the tone for the rest of the campaign.

The German manager got more time as club hierarchy gave him time till Christmas and eventually till the end of the campaign. The result against Dortmund kickstarted their campaign as they began their journey back to the top of the table. On a personal note, this victory was also important for Flick to get more time to show his managerial skills.
