Emerson Palmieri

Chelsea is reportedly looking to add a left-back to the squad in the summer window. Marcos Alonso has found a way back in the starting XI before the suspension of the Premier League, so Emerson Palmieri is likely to make way for the new left-back arrival.

Die Roten can look at Palmieri as a possible back up option in the left-back position. The Brazilian is an attacking full-back that has can find forwards in the final third with accurate passes and crosses. Emerson can also unleash a powerful shot from the outside of the box and test the goalkeeper.

The Brazilian started the season strongly, but inconsistency in performances led to his axing from the starting XI. Having said that, a change of scenery can surely help Emerson to emulate promising performances that he delivered for Roma before getting a move to the Premier League.

The previous two left-backs would have acted as first-choice options. However, Emerson could be brought in as a squad option that can help in managing the workload of Davies. Since Chelsea is reportedly ready to sign a new left-back, Die Roten can manage to negotiate a decent transfer fee for the services of the Italian full-back.
