Lucas Digne

Bayern can turn their attention to the Premier League if they want to fill in the left-back position. Everton’s Lucas Digne is one of the best left-backs in England and can surely be a good candidate for this position in Bavaria. The Frenchman has been a top performer for the Merseyside club since joining them from Barcelona in 2018.

Digne is a marauding full-back that is astute while defending. The French defender had a small dip in performances at Barcelona, but he has regained confidence at Everton. Digne’s consistent performances for the English club has helped him to get back into the French national squad.

The former Paris-Saint Germain defender has good positional awareness and manages to keep fast wingers quiet for long periods of the game. While going forward, Digne is productive as he can play accurate final pass, and also score worldies from the outside of the box.

Digne currently has five assists to his name in the Premier League. The only concern about him is his record at top clubs. However, he is entering the prime years of career, so his performances are likely to improve with time. Since Digne’s contract with Everton expires in 2023, Bayern may face the challenge of negotiating a reasonable fee. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)
