Bayern Munich is reportedly the preferred target for a young German star playing in the Bundesliga.
There is no fixed date when the summer transfer window will open as the ongoing season is suspended due to coronavirus pandemic. Bayern Munich may face consequences of the pandemic, but improving attacking options will be on the club’s agenda during the transfer window.
Kai Havertz is one of the few players that have been heavily linked with a move to Bavaria in the past 18 months. Bayer Leverkusen are resigned to losing the young German star in the summer window as numerous top clubs have been linked with him.
The latest update from Germany about Havertz is positive for Die Roten. According to Sky Sports, Havertz wants to seal a move to Bayern when the transfer window reopens. This report also insists that Hansi Flick is also eager to work with Havertz in Bavaria.
Bayer Leverkusen reportedly wants a nine-figure fee for the 20-year-old versatile attacking midfielder. It will be interesting to see whether that stance has changed due to the ongoing pandemic crisis in Europe.

Uli Hoeness, former president of Rekordmeister, has already insisted that €100 million transfers are unlikely to happen in summer. Die Roten have been heavily linked with Leroy Sane and Kai Havertz. Both players were expected to command very high transfer fees, but now it is looking unlikely that selling clubs will get their way in negotiations.
Havertz enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Leverkusen last season. Along with Jadon Sancho, he was the best young player in the Bundesliga. The German international was heavily linked with a move to Bavaria last summer, but he decided to stay at Leverkusen for at least one more season.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder had to go through testing times this season. His form plummetted in Ruckrunde, but he made a resounding comeback in Hinrunde. Havertz was peaking at the right time for Leverkusen as they looked set to have a strong end to the season.
Die Roten focussed on getting Leroy Sane last summer but ended up signing Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic due to a serious injury to Sane. Both moves have not yielded success for Rekordmeister, so the club will need new attacking players in summer. Flick also reportedly wants to work with Timo Werner in Bavaria. It will be interesting to see which German players Bayern ends up signing in summer.
