Bayern Munich has finally appointed Hansi Flick as their new permanent first-team manager.
Amidst all the uncertainty surrounding football right now, Bayern Munich have decided to end speculation surrounding the managerial position. The defending German champions have decided to appoint Hansi Flick as their new manager.
On Wednesday, Die Roten released a statement saying that Flick has penned down a new contract that will expire in 2023. The German manager was appointed as the caretaker manager after Niko Kovac left the club in November.
After delivering impressive performances till the winter break, Rekordmeister decided to stick with Flick till the end of the season. The team regained the top spot in the Bundesliga and remained unbeaten under him in 2020.
Die Roten’s massive Champions League victory against Chelsea in February effectively sealed the job for Flick. Speaking to the club’s website, Flick admitted that he is determined to achieve success at the club after fruitful talks with the club hierarchy.
"“I’m looking forward to taking on the upcoming tasks along with my staff and the team. The talks with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidžić were very good and in a spirit of good faith.”“We’ve determined the direction for the upcoming years. I’m sure we can achieve a lot together.”"

Flick joined Die Roten in summer last year as an assistant coach. After taking over from Kovac, Flick delivered results straightaway by defeating Olympiakos and Borussia Dortmund in the space of five weeks. The win against Dortmund was impressive as Rekordmeister dominated the whole game and scored four goals against their arch-rivals.
The players have quickly adapted to Flick’s methods, and the team has been playing on the front foot. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has previously insisted that Die Roten should win trophies by playing an attractive style of football. Flick has managed to achieve that during his short period as a first-team manager.

Flick’s man-management has also been lauded by Bayern players on numerous occasions. The job is not going to be easy for Flick, but he has shown enough in the last four months that he is good enough to lead Die Roten to trophies. It will be interesting to see how much power Flick has in the transfer window and what plans he has for every player going forward.
