Joshua Kimmich
Lewandowski will take all the plaudits for his goals this season, but Bayern have looked a more balanced side with Joshua Kimmich in central midfield. The German international finally got the chance to play in midfield for an extended run of games this season.
Kimmich has made sure that Die Roten don’t have to spend big next summer to sign a number six. His wide passing range helps the team to dictate play, and his positional awareness provides more protection to the back four. Every week, Kimmich doesn’t do anything spectacular, but still ends up being one of the best players on the pitch.

The German international’s productivity in the final third has been sacrificed since he is playing in a much deeper role. However, this doesn’t stop him from coming up with clutch goals in the big games. The goal against Schalke in the DFB Pokal quarterfinals is the most recent big goal Kimmich has scored for Die Roten.
Kimmich also came up with an important goal against Tottenham Hotspurs at London Stadium in October. He has been a much more influential figure for Die Roten in big games this season. It is not a surprise that Bayern have looked strong in tough European games as Kimmich takes his game to the next level on such occasions and helps the team to win the crucial midfield battle.
