Thomas Muller

Many eyebrows will be raised by seeing the name of Thomas Muller in this list. The German forward is currently delivering his best performances since the departure of Pep Guardiola in 2016. However, things are not as straightforward regarding Muller’s future at the club.

Muller was struggling to get regular playing time under Niko Kovac at the start of the season. In October, reports emerged that the German forward is considering leaving the club in the winter window. Muller didn’t dismiss these reports and insisted that he cannot continue to be a player making an impact from the bench.

Bayern insisted that Muller is not going anywhere. After Kovac’s departure, Muller firmly established himself in the starting XI. He became the creative fulcrum of the team, registering 16 assists to his name in the Bundesliga.

Muller will enter the final year of his contract at the start of the 2020/21 season. With the possible signings of Sane and Havertz, Muller will once again find himself at sidelines. The German may not commit his future to the club, forcing Die Roten to listen to offers for him. Muller still has a lot to offer, but his desire to play every game may lead to his departure in summer.
