Kevin Vogt

Getting a young defender is surely the right thing to do when Boateng leaves, but young defenders will think twice about moving Bayern due to the quality of defenders at the club’s disposal. Lucas Hernandez, Niklas Sule, and Benjamin Pavard are very good options in central defense. The emergence of Alphonso Davies in the left-back position also makes David Alaba as a central defense option.

In such a scenario, Bayern can go for a much experience center-back option if they struggle to get a younger player. Kevin Vogt fits the bill for this profile. The German defender has the experience of playing in the Bundesliga, and he has the qualities of playing for Bayern. At the age of 28, this will be a perfect move for both parties.

More from Bayern Strikes

Vogt was an important part of Julian Nagelsmann’s Hoffenheim team in the past few seasons. He was one of the consistent center-backs in the league that helped Hoffenheim to keep an impressive record in defense. The German defender can outmuscle physical forwards and also can progress the play from the back.

Since Vogt is on loan at Werder Bremen this season, Hoffenheim surely doesn’t consider him as part of their plans while going forward. The German defender will not cost a lot of money compared to other center-back options, so it will allow Bayern to spend more in other departments of the squad.
