Bayern Munich want to keep Ivan Perisic beyond summer
Bayern Munich reportedly wants to sign Ivan Perisic permanently from Inter Milan in summer.
With two months left in the 2019/20 season, Bayern Munich will be looking to start working on their summer transfer plans. The defending Bundesliga champions will have to make a decision on the future of few players that arrived on loan last summer.
Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho joined Die Roten on one-year loan deals from Inter Milan and Barcelona, respectively. According to Kicker (via TZ), Bayern has decided to reward Perisic’s performances by signing him permanently from Inter Milan.
Rekordmeister will have to pay the reported fee of €20 million for signing Perisic from the Italian club. Perisic is currently recovering from an injury that he suffered at the start of February. The Croatian winger is expected to start training with the first team later this month.
It has been a mixed season for the Croatian winger in Bavaria. He started brightly for Die Roten, but his performances started to deteriorate as the season progressed. The former Dortmund winger responded well to this dip in form and made a strong return after the winter break.

At that price, Perisic will be a good option to have in the squad. Despite the freak injury in training last month, the Croat has a good injury record. His versatility is also a big plus point as he can play as a wing-back if Flick decides to go with three center-backs. Moreover, he has the knack of delivering strong performances in big games, so his experience will be vital in the squad.
Signing Perisic will be counter-productive if Bayern don’t sign another world-class winger in summer. Perisic doesn’t have a great end product, so it is necessary that Die Roten sign a free-scoring winger that can complement the exploits of Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry in the final third.
This report also had a small update on Leroy Sane. The German winger remains a summer transfer target for Rekordmeister, but there are few doubts about the player amongst the board members. Sane has started training with the first team at Manchester City, so Die Roten will know whether that injury has made any long term effect on the player.
The reigning Bundesliga champions will do well if they sign Sane in summer and make Perisic’s transfer permanent. There will be a good variety in the attacking department. Moreover, competition for places will also get the better of every player.
