Bayern Munich has reportedly joined the race for signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Die Roten are expected to be busy in summer as they are set to invest heavily in the attacking department after improving the defense last year. Since this fact is known out there and pretty obvious, Bayern Munich have been linked with numerous forwards every week.

Jadon Sancho is the latest player to be linked with a move to Bavaria. According to Sky Sports, Bayern Munich have joined the race for the 19-year-old winger. Rekordmeister will face tough competition as  Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United are also keen admirers of the English forward.

As per the Telegraph, Dortmund are ready to cash in for Sancho. They are likely to demand a fee of more than £100 million for him in summer. The German club will ideally like to have a bidding war for the forward. Interest from so many big clubs will make sure that Dortmund ends up earning the biggest profit on a player in the Bundesliga.

Sancho is a versatile forward. His performances from the left and right have been equally good. After taking time to settle at Dortmund during his debut season in 2017/18, he took Bundesliga by storm last season. He ended the campaign with mindboggling numbers of 12 goals and 17 assists in the Bundesliga.

More from Bayern Strikes

His performance did dip at the start of the 2019/20 season, but he recovered quickly. He is on course to better last season’s tally of goals and assists. Sancho is surely the best U-21 player in Europe now, and his performances are going to get much better as he gains more experience.

Sancho will easily take Die Roten’s attack to the next level. Bayern will be mad to not try to make this transfer happen. However, they may have to sacrifice one of the other positions in summer to sign the English forward. They will have to abandon the plans to sign Leroy Sane from Manchester City or else, sell one of their prized assets to make space for other big signings.

Moreover, bidding wars for top players may lead to a long transfer saga that can consume the whole window. The last thing Die Roten need right now after going through Sane transfer saga last summer. They ended up signing two forwards late in the window on one-year loan deals.

Sancho will be an outstanding addition to Rekordmeister’s squad, but I can’t see that happening in summer. Dortmund would prefer to let him go to club away from Bundesliga, and English clubs are likely to blow Bayern out of water in terms of the transfer fee.
