Bayern Munich is reportedly ready to listen to offers for Corentin Tolisso in the upcoming summer transfer window.

It is going to be a busy summer transfer window for Bayern Munich as they are set to continue the rebuild of their squad. Rekordmeister is already being heavily linked with top talents across Europe as the club is looking at young players.

To make space for last summer’s signings, Die Roten released three senior players after the expiration of their contracts. Mats Hummels was also allowed to join Borussia Dortmund to make way for Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard.

There are likely to be more departures in summer. However, Die Roten don’t have any veteran players that will be released during this window. The reports in Germany suggest that the big player that may play away from Bavaria next year is Corentin Tolisso.

According to SportBild and Bild (via footmercato), Bayern is ready to listen to offers for Tolisso at the end of the 2019/20 campaign. This report insists that Die Roten wants to sell Tolisso to make space for potential incomings such as Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen. Tolisso is also reportedly not happy with limited playing time under Hansi Flick.

More from Bayern Strikes

It has been a tough 18 months for the French midfielder. After a solid debut season and winning the World Cup with France, Tolisso was expected to become an important player for Bayern. Unfortunately, he ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of the knee at the start of the 2018/19 season, which ruled him out for that campaign.

After a long recovery process, Tolisso returned to the first-team action during the pre-season tour last year. His performances have been inconsistent, but he has shown brilliance in flashes during the limited appearances he has got this campaign. The Frenchman previously admitted that he is ready to fight for his place in the starting XI, but right now, he is way below in the pecking order. Tolisso is yet to start a league game in Ruckrunde.

Limited playing time and expected new arrivals may force Tolisso to look for a move away from Bavaria to kickstart his career. His contract with Die Roten is set to expire in 2022, so the German club is in a strong position to demand a hefty fee. Bayern broke their then transfer record to bring Tolisso from Lyon in 2017, so the German club will be hoping to recuperate more than that fee despite his stock is low now.

It is a real shame that Tolisso suffered that injury as he was showing signs of taking strides towards nailing down a place in the starting XI. He is looking rusty at the moment, but with proper game time, which he will not get at Bayern, he should be able to get back to his best. The Frenchman will not be short of options as he is still 25. He can go on to fulfill his potential in the coming years at another club.
