Bayern Munich are expected to deal with a counter-defensive tactic against RB Leipzig in matchday 21 of the Bundesliga 2019/20 at the Allianz Arena

Bayern Munich routed Mainz by three goals to one, which saw them climb on top of the table in the previous game week. There was more to celebrate for the Bavarians. The German champions claimed a victory against Hoffenheim in the DFB Pokal clash on Wednesday. It was a close match as Die Roten edged it by a score of four-three. Bayern faces their biggest clash of the season in matchday 21. They will host Julian Nagelsmann’s RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena. The Red Bulls remain Bayern’s closest competitors to challenge for the title. Their performance, however, has failed to give them the desired results after the winter break.

RB Leipzig dropped points in the last two gameweeks in Ruckrunde, slipping to the second position last week. After a dismal result in Frankfurt, Nagleslmann’s side gave away two points against Borussia Monchengladbach in matchday 20. The DFB Pokal added insult to injury for the Red Bulls. They suffered another defeat at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt, who again won with a two-goal cushion.

The next fixture will feature the biggest clash of the current Bundesliga campaign. A match of utmost importance for Hansi Flick and Julian Nagelsmann. Bayern will lock horns with Leipzig. In today’s column, I present the tactical highlights observed in matchday four of the Bundesliga 2019/20 season when RB Leipzig and Bayern settled for a one-all draw. This will be followed by a tactical preview of their Ruckrunde fixture.
