Germany manager Joachim Low remains open to recalling Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller if needed.

Bayern Munich always has players that play important roles for their international teams. More international players in the squad mean that Bayern has recruited well or found the right jewels from their academy. The German national team generally has many players from Bayern over the years.

Joachim Low shocked European football fans by announcing that Thomas Muller, Jerome Boateng, and Mats Hummels will no longer be considered for the German national team. The German manager wanted to focus on building a young squad for Euros.

All three senior players were shocked by Low’s decision. The three players believed that they could offer a lot to the senior team. However, Low stuck by his decision and has not called them since making this announcement in March last year.

Thomas Muller has been in terrific form over the past three months. The German forward is looking prolific in the final third under Hansi Flick. His form may force Low to change his decision. Speaking to Bild am Sonntag (via SportBild), Low spoke about the possibility of calling up Muller and Mats Hummels for Euros.

"“I still know what they can do and both are having strong performances this season. I can rely on them as a possible option if we had problems shortly before the European Championships”“But it is now too early to answer questions that have not yet been asked.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Muller’s future at Bayern was looking bleak in October as he had fallen out of favour under Niko Kovac. However, the Croatian’s departure sparked his revival in Bavaria. Under Flick, he has been a creative force in the final third, and recently, he started scoring more goals. Muller currently has eight goals and 13 assists across all competitions. The German forward has been included in the list of 50 players that will be considered for the selection of the team that will play in the Olympics in July. If he continues to impress for Bayern, then Muller is surely donning the German jersey in summer one way or the other.

Ever since Pep Guardiola’s departure, Muller’s numbers in the final third. At the moment, he is on track to enjoy his best season since 2015/16. It will be interesting to see whether Muller will be handed a new contract at Bayern. He remained tight-lipped about his future in January

In my opinion, Bayern should try to keep Muller for at least two more seasons. The German also needs to understand that he can be a vital member of the team without playing every game. His influence will be important in the dressing room, which has many young players. Muller can have a similar impact during Euros if Low decides to reverse his decision.
