Bayern Munich might struggle to unlock Schalke’s defense when they meet at the Allianz Arena in matchday 19 of the Bundesliga 2019/20

The chances of Bayern offering a long-term contract to Hansi Flick looks increasingly better. Bayern Munich closed their first Ruckrunde fixture with a four-nil win against Hertha Berlin. There were loads of goals in this game, albeit it took an hour for the first goal to arrive at the Olympiastadion. A rock-solid system designed to choke the opposition in their half, which also helped in improving the defensive structure.

The next fixture provides a different challenge. Schalke 04 started their Ruckrunde campaign with a bang. The Royal Blues got the better of Borussia Monchengladbach at the Veltins Arena. David Wagner delivered a strong statement with this victory. With Allianz Arena in their sights for the next game, Schalke will aim to carry their form in Munich.

In their previous fixture of the current season, Bayern found the net thrice to claim their first victory of the season. It was all down to Robert Lewandowski’s finesse as the Pole completed his hattrick. In our column today, I will look at the tactical highlights from the fixture held at the Veltins Arena in matchday two. Thereafter, I will focus on our expectations for matchday 19.
