Leroy Sane

When Leroy Sane was first discussed as a possibility back last summer, Bayern fans, myself included, couldn’t believe that this was a possibility, considering the hold Manchester City have on their players and the price tag that comes with them. As the summer went along, the rumors continued, and the Bayern faithful grew more excited. The deal was very close to being done in August, but due to an injury, it fell apart, and Bayern fans were left wondering what could have been. Recently though, those rumors resurfaced, and that has brought the excitement back.

More from Bayern Strikes

Sane had an impressive 2018/19 campaign with Man City despite being getting lesser game time than other forwards at the club. The winger had 10 goals and 10 assists to his name in 31 appearances. The overall output was well above his expected goal rate of .28. He has proven that he can be a difference-maker for the best team in the Premier League. The German winger is likely to have a similar impact in the Bundesliga if he decides to join Bayern.

The reason I put Sane on this list is that reports came out last month that he wants a move to Die Roten, and considering their interest last summer, this seems like an inevitability. Bayern wants Sane, and they have shown they will work very hard to get it done. But, there are questions about how his recovery will go and what price City will be willing to sell him for. Can Bayern pull this off? It seems like it’ll happen, and Bayern will be much better off when it does.
