Philippe Coutinho backs Hansi Flick for permanent role at Bayern Munich
Philippe Coutinho is backing Hansi Flick to become the permanent manager of Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich is set to resume Bundesliga action next weekend after a long winter break. The German Champions trained in Doha for the last seven days. Hansi Flick will be expected to hit the ground running straight away after being appointed as the interim manager during the winter break.
The German manager did some good work during his first two months as head coach of Bayern Munich, but he still needs to improve in few areas during the second half of the season. It will be interesting to see how he fares in the European knockout games.
Flick has shown a decent level of tactical acumen in November and December. His most impressive performance came against Borussia Dortmund in November, as Die Roten hammered four goals past their bitter rivals.
The most impressive aspect of Flick’s time has been his man-management skill. He is loved by the players, and they have been publicly praising him regularly. Philippe Coutinho is the latest player to praise Flick’s managerial skills. Speaking to AZ, the Brazilian playmaker insisted that Flick can go on to become Bayern’s permanent manager.
"“Flick is doing really well. He has the potential to be Bayern coach even longer, even beyond the summer.“Really every player is happy with him, so why not? But of course, this decision is made by the top of the club.”"

Sport1 reported earlier this week that Flick is eager to become the permanent manager of Bayern. This report also insisted that the German manager is also attracting interest from many clubs due to his good work with Die Roten in the past two months.
Bayern Munich needs to carry out a thorough process for deciding the next manager since the last two appointments have not worked well. The next four months will also help in evaluating Flick’s managerial credentials since there will be encounters against tough teams. He is loved in the dressing room, but it remains to be seen whether he can find consistency in performances and results.
Die Roten have been linked with numerous managers in the past two months. Several top managers could be available in summer, so the German champions must take time to make the next appointment. It will be interesting to see whether Flick will decide to stay on in the coaching staff if Bayern appoints a new manager.
Bayern meanwhile returns to Germany after training camp in Doha on Friday. The German champions played a friendly against FC Nurnberg to get players back to match fitness. Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry remain doubts for next weekend’s game against Hertha Berlin.
