Bayern Munich is reportedly planning to include Adrian Fein in the first team squad next season.

It has been a good few weeks for academy graduates at Bayern Munich. Joshua Zirkzee has been the man of the moment as he effectively scored winners against Freiburg and Wolfsburg last week. The Dutch forward has made a big impact in the minimum minutes he has got on the pitch.

Apart from Zirkzee, Hansi Flick has also given Bayern Munich debuts to Sarpreet Singh and Leon Dajaku. These debuts have come due to injury to Kingsley Coman and other midfielders, but Flick still deserves credit for being brave and making attacking changes.

Away from Bayern, another youth academy graduate is shining for Hamburger SV. Adrian Fein is this young player, who has been a pivotal player for the 2. Bundesliga side. His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed at Bayern.

According to TZ, Bayern is planning to include Fein in the first-team squad next season. The German midfielder’s loan spell at Hamburger SV will come to an end in July 2020. This report also insists that Bayern will also extend Fein’s contract, which is set to expire in 2021.

More from Bayern Strikes

Hein excels in the defensive midfield position. The 21-year-old midfielder has featured for Hamburger SV in 20 games this season, scoring one goal and creating two for his teammates. He is one of the main reasons behind Hamburg’s strong league season till now.

Bayern currently have Javi Martinez and Joshua Kimmich as the options in the defensive midfield role.  Kimmich has been playing in this position throughout this season, while Martinez has been used in the center-back position. The latter’s future at the club is uncertain as he is on a steady decline right now, and his contract also expires in 2021.

Meanwhile, Thiago Alcantara has also been recently linked with a move away from Bavaria in the past few weeks. If Die Roten decides to offload both Spanish midfielders next summer, then Fein will have a good chance of getting regular playing time. He will compete with Kimmich for the number six role. Kimmich also operates in the right-back role, so there is enough scope for Fein to continue his development at Bavaria next season.

Players such as Fein are the future of Bayern, so they must get an adequate number of chances to prove themselves in the first team. Die Roten has struggled to incorporate players from youth academy in the first team during the past few seasons. They currently have a very promising crop of young players at their disposal that can help them improve the squad and help them in saving millions in the transfer market.
