Serge Aurier vs Kingsley Coman

Spurs are expected to play with a back four against Bayern on Wednesday. Despite fielding a four-man defense, Spurs have a lopsided defensive shape during the game. The left-back sits deep and forms a three-man defense with the two central defenders. Meanwhile, the right-back has the freedom to venture forward and contribute in attack.

Serge Aurier has thrived in the right-back role under Mourinho. The former Paris Saint-Germain full-back has been brilliant in the final third. His defensive frailties are disguised in this setup, helping him to maximize his output in the attack.

Kingsley Coman is expected to start on the left-flank against Spurs. Bayern will be counting on the French winger to exploit the space left behind Aurier. Coman has been struggling in the past two months, so this game can be ideal for him to get back into the groove.

The French international has the trickery and pace to trouble Aurier, and pin him down in a deeper position. Aurier loses his cool easily and dives into rash challenges, so Coman will be looking to get one over him early in the game to frustrate him.
