Bayern Munich consider move for PSG coach Thomas Tuchel
Bayern Munich is reportedly ready to make a summer move for Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel.
The Bundesliga champions are in no rush to hire a new manager after parting ways with Niko Kovac at the start of November. Bayern Munich is expected to appoint a permanent manager in summer as Hansi Flick is reportedly set to be named as interim manager.
The German media has a new update on Bayern’s managerial search every week. According to SportBild, Bayern wants to appoint Thomas Tuchel as their next manager. This report insists that Die Roten wants Flick to be part of Tuchel’s coaching staff due to their strong relationship.

He joined the French club at the start of the 2018/19 season. In his debut season guided PSG to Ligue 1 and Trophee des Champions.
Bayern reportedly tried to appoint Tuchel after they sacked Carlo Ancelotti in 2017. However, the German manager had already reached an agreement with PSG by the time Die Roten made their move. The Bavarians eventually appointed Kovac after missing out on Tuchel.

The German manager is one of the top candidates for Bayern’s managerial post. Tuchel impressed during his short spell at Borussia Dortmund. He can implement an attractive style of play. Moreover, he can also develop young talent and extract the best out of them. His tactical approach can help Die Roten to become a force in Europe. Moreover, the language will not be an issue compared to other possible candidates.
Tuchel did fell out with Dortmund bosses despite delivering an impressive two-year spell with the club. However, he has looked settled at PSG, so it could be just one odd scenario where he fell out with club chiefs.
The French club has been doing well in Ligue 1 this season, but the real test for Tuchel’s men will come in knockout rounds of the Champions League. PSG has struggled in CL for a long time. If Tuchel struggles to go deep into this competition, then the club may look for a new coach.
Bayern will be hoping that they are second time lucky with Tuchel. It will be interesting to see if Tuchel is interested in returning to Germany. For the time being, Die Roten will struggle to appoint Tuchel due to his contract length at PSG, but a poor season with the French club may put the ball in Bayern’s court.
