Bayern Munich is reportedly very keen on starting negotiations with former Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The managerial merry go round could begin soon because of Tottenham Hotspurs’ decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino this week. Bayern Munich was bound to be linked with the Argentine since the German club is also looking for a new manager.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Bayern is eager to open talks with Pochettino. This report insists that Pochettino may want to wait for Real Madrid and Manchester United as these two clubs have previously approached him.
Hasan Salihamidzic is eager to talk to Pochettino and let him decide when he wants to join the German club. The previous reports in Germany had suggested that Salihamidzic is a big fan of Pochettino’s work at Spurs.
Earlier this week, Sky Sports also reported that the Argentine manager is being considered by Bayern. This report did highlights the complication in appointing him straight away. The English media outlet also insisted that Real Madrid also remain interested in his services.

Pochettino was sacked by Spurs this week due to poor start to the season. He managed to make Spurs as a top-four regular in the past five seasons. The Argentine manager was involved in two title races and also helped Spurs to reach the Champions League final during his time in London.
The most impressive aspect of Pochettino’s work at Spurs is that he worked under a restricted transfer budget. He successfully promoted young players from the academy and eventually made them the stars of the first team. His team was tactically flexible and played beautiful football. With better backing in the transfer market, Pochettino can start competing for big trophies regularly.
Die Roten has been persisting with a German-speaking manager after the difficult 18 months Carlo Ancelotti faced between 2016-18. Pochettino is a superb coach, but not knowing the German language could become a hurdle in this possible appointment. However, Bayern can reach an agreement with him in winter and appoint him in summer. These six months will allow Pochettino to learn the German language.
Hansi Flick refused to comment about the reports linking Pochettino to Bayern. Pochettino is surely one of the top candidates for the vacant managerial post at Bayern, but the deal to bring him will be complicated. The interest from other top clubs and language are the big hurdles in this possible appointment.
