Bayern Munich monitoring Tottenham Hotspurs striker Troy Parrott
Bayern Munich is reportedly showing interest in Tottenham Hotspur forward Troy Parrott.
The English teams are developing some of the best young players in Europe at the moment. However, these young players find it difficult to break into the first team at big clubs due to the presence of established stars. Bayern Munich tried to sign some British talents in the past 12 months to improve both senior and junior teams.
Die Roten lodged multiple bids to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea in January. The English winger was also eager to move to Bavaria, but Chelsea stood firm on their stance of not selling one of their most talented youth academy graduates.
Bayern Munich is now showing interest in a youth player from Chelsea’s London rival. According to Daily Mail, Bayern Munich is interested in Tottenham Hotspur’s Troy Parrott. The German club has been keeping a close eye on Parrott as he continues to shine at the youth level.
Parrott primarily operates as a striker. He can also play as a left-winger, but his main attributes shine when he is leading the attack. The teenager made his first debut this season during the EFL cup game against Colchester United. He has already made his debut for the Republic of Ireland’s senior team.

The 17-year-old striker currently has 18 months left on his contract. Bayern may try to take advantage of this contractual situation, and sign him for a decent fee in summer. Parrott is likely to play for Bayern Munich II if the German club manages to sign him in summer or next year.
Die Roten were aggressive in summer when it came to signing players for the first team. They managed to sign Liam Morrison from Celtic in summer. Bayern also added high rate striker Leon Dajaku from VfB Stuttgart to the reserves team. The club is focussing on developing these young players that can eventually play in the first team.
Bayern will reap the benefits of such signings in the future as the transfer fees continue to get bigger every season. However, things will not work by just stockpiling young talent in youth teams. The German champions need to develop a proper plan to integrate players such as Dajaku and Morrison in the first team.
Apart from Hudson-Odoi and Parrott, Bayern has also been linked with Arsenal’s Joe Willock. The German club will be hoping to unearth gems in youth systems that can go on to become stars of the game. Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is a prime example of the benefits of such a transfer policy.
