Pep Guardiola’s agent admits that there has been no contact from  Bayern Munich for his services.

Bayern Munich confirmed last week that Hansi Flick would continue managing the first team for the time being. They will review his position during the winter break. If he delivers good results till Christmas, then he will be handed the interim role till the end of the season.

The German champions will be in the hunt for a top manager next summer. Since the departure of Niko Kovac, Die Roten have been linked with numerous managers in the past few weeks. These managers are likely to join in summer than take up the role at Bayern midway through this season.

Pep Guardiola’s name has popped up for this role in the past few days. The Spanish manager had enjoyed a successful three-year spell in Bavaria from 2013 till 2016. The reports in Germany suggested that Bayern dreams about Guardiola return.

Josep Maria Orobitg, Guardiola’s agent, has poured cold water to these rumours. Speaking to Goal, Orobitg insisted that Guardiola is happy at Manchester City. He also confirms that there has been no approach from Bayern or any other club for Guardiola.

"“In football, nothing is certain.”“I spoke with Pep last Wednesday, and everything is the same: He feels good at Manchester City and also in the city of Manchester, and he has a contract until June 30, 2021. Nobody but the press contacted me about the future Pep.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Guardiola signed a contract extension at Man City last season. The Spanish manager won the domestic treble last season and successfully won two Premier League titles in a row. This season has been a bit indifferent to Guardiola as Man City are fourth in the table, nine points behind Liverpool.

The Spaniard did well in Bavaria by winning three Bundesliga titles in a row. However, he struggled to take the German team past the semi-final stage in the Champions League. There is no doubt that Guardiola will implement a good style of football at Die Roten, but his Champions League record since leaving Barcelona is a sign of concern.

Apart from Guardiola, Erik Ten Hag has been heavily linked with the managerial position at Bayern Munich. Ten Hag worked as reserves coach during Guardiola’s time in Bavaria. The Dutchman is attracting interest from top clubs due to the attractive style of football he managed to implement at Ajax.

Die Roten will be spoilt for choices next summer as there are many top candidates for this role that can be available next summer. The Spanish manager generally leaves a club at the end of three years but decided to extend the contract at Man City, showing that he is enjoying time at the English club. I can see Bayern put their all effort into getting Guardiola if he shows signs of leaving England.
