Bayern Munich have no plans to part ways with Kingsley Coman
Bayern Munich is reportedly not interested in sanctioning Kingsley Coman’s transfer to Manchester City.
There is likely to be an addition to the attacking department at Bayern Munich in summer. Die Roten signed two forwards last summer, but both joined on one-year loan deals. The performances of Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho till May will decide whether they will stay in Bavaria next season.
On the other hand, Bayern is expected to revive interest in Manchester City winger Leroy Sane. The German forward has reportedly made up his mind to move to Bavaria in summer, and Man City is already looking for his replacement.
There was a further twist in this transfer saga on Saturday. According to Sky Sports, Man City wants to sign Kingsley Coman from Bayern as Sane’s replacement. There is no talk about a straight swap deal in this report from the English outlet.
The German media has put cold water on this speculation surrounding Coman. As per TZ in Germany, Bayern has no plans to part ways with the French winger. The German champions are not open to including him in the deal to bring Sane to Bavaria.

Pep Guardiola had previously worked with Coman during his time at Bayern. Coman delivered some brilliant performances under the Spanish coach. Playing under Guardiola is an attractive option for a player, but in this case, Bayern hold all the cards due to Coman’s long term contract
After an impressive debut season in Bavaria, the French winger had suffered numerous injury setbacks in the last four years. There was uncertainty about his future at the club when his loan spell was coming to an end. Rekordmeister ultimately triggered the option and signed him permanently from Juventus in 2017. His contract was further renewed until 2023.
Coman has no problems with game time at Bayern right now. He is enjoying the added responsibility on his shoulders due to the departure of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. The Frenchman has three goals and three assists to his name this season. He is still wasteful in the final third, but his overall style of play helps Die Roten in stretching the tight defenses.
Bayern Munich need additions in the attack, so swapping Sane for Coman doesn’t make sense for the club. Moreover, the German club is in the driving seat to complete the transfer of Sane due to his contract situation at Man City. Coman and Sane are both needed at the club next summer. It is not the case of one or the other as having variety in attack will help Die Roten to challenge on all fronts.
