Oliver Kahn believes that Bayern Munich should take their time in appointing a manager that can help them in achieving sustained success.

Bayern Munich had an eventful week till now as they gear up for Der Klassiker on Saturday. The Bundesliga champions are looking for a new manager after they parted ways with Niko Kovac due to a series of poor performances from the team in October.

Rekordmeister decided to give Hansi Flick the responsibility of setting up the team for games against Olympiakos and Borussia Dortmund. Meanwhile, the club is looking to bring in a new manager before the end of the next international break.

The German club has been linked with numerous managers in the past few days. Some managers are rumoured to be in the race for becoming interim manager, while others are linked with a permanent role at the club.

In a recent interaction with media (via Sky Sports), Oliver Kahn admitted that Bayern should try to appoint a manager that can achieve long-term goals of the club. The German goalkeeper insists that the club should take their time in finding the manager that brings an attractive style of football.

"“You want a coach that can shape an era. I think it’s important that you get away from big names, you have to think about which football Bayern Munich stands for, which coach fits that perfectly.”“That’s part of the philosophy of FC Bayern. Dominant, attractive, forward, that you recognize things in terms of technical level and the speed that you do not see in other teams.”"

Kahn is set to take up a leadership role at Bayern Munich in January 2020. The German goalkeeper is unlikely to be part of the decision-making team right now. If Die Roten appoints an interim manager, then Kahn will have a say in the club’s search for a new manager next summer.

Erik Ten Hag continues to be the top candidate to become Bayern’s next manager. The Telegraaf in the Netherlands also reports that Ten Hag is interested in becoming Die Roten’s manager. This Dutch outlet also confirms that Thomas Tuchel is the other top candidate for the managerial position at Bayern.

Ten Hag dismissed the suggestions about leaving Ajax midway through the season. However, in a recent interview with Kicker, he refused to rule out a move to Bavaria in the future. Tuchel, meanwhile, has also poured the cold water on Bayern rumours and insisted that he is happy at Paris-Saint Germain.
