Brazilian forward Philippe Coutinho admits that he has managed to settle at Bayern Munich sooner than expected.

Bayern Munich had a difficult summer in terms of signing a top forward to improve the quality of the squad. The defending Bundesliga champions eventually settled with loan deals for Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic from Barcelona and Inter Milan respectively.

Die Roten have the option to make these deals permanent next summer. These two players have made a positive start to life in Bavaria. Perisic provides much-needed experience to the attack while Coutinho’s guile in the final third improves Bayern’s style of play.

Coutinho scored his first goal for Die Roten last weekend against FC Cologne. The Brazilian delivered a man of the match performance as he also grabbed an assist in this game. He is confident about improving his performances steadily as the season progresses.

The former Liverpool forward admits that he has quickly settled at the club and city. Speaking to Bundesliga.com, Coutinho insisted that the club has helped him in getting accustomed to new culture and league. He also expressed his gratitude towards Robert Lewandowski for allowing him to take penalty last weekend.

"“From time to time I went for a walk with my family. The city is very beautiful. The people here are very open-hearted.”“For sure it was a great gesture. Lewy had the chance for a hat-trick. He gave me the opportunity to score my first goal. That made me very happy and thankful.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Coutinho had a difficult time at Barcelona after shining for Liverpool in Premier League. The Brazilian struggled to completely settle at the Spanish club, leading to his departure from the club this summer.

Bayern was able to clinch a superb deal when they signed Coutinho on loan from Barcelona. A change of scenery might help the Brazilian to kickstart his career. If he turns out to be a success this year, then Die Roten will activate the clause. On the other hand, if he fails to reach his previous heights, then Bayern will look at other options next summer.

Coutinho has all the attributes to become a game-changer for Die Roten in the final third. His impressive outing against Red Star Belgrade was a small teaser of things to come from the former Liverpool forward. Niko Kovac also admitted that the Brazilian adds a different dimension to Bayern’s attack.

After a fruitful week, Coutinho will be hoping to kick on for Bayern.  It will be interesting to see how Kovac manages Coutinho and Thomas Muller as both forwards are in good form right now. The game against Tottenham Hotspurs next week will be an ideal test for the Brazil international.
