Corentin Tolisso targets Champions League win with Bayern Munich
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Corentin Tolisso admitted that Bayern Munich has the right squad to win the Champions League this season.
Bayern Munich has endured a mixed start to the new season. The Bundesliga champions are unbeaten in three league games. Die Roten also won the first DFB Pokal game of the season against Energie Cottbus last month.
Die Roten will begin their Champions League campaign against Tottenham Hotspurs this month. They were handed an interesting group in the draws last week, but they remain favorites to reach the next stage of this competition.
Bayern has been enduring heartbreaks in Champions League since winning the trophy in 2013. The German club has failed to reach the finals of this competition in the past six seasons. Last season was the biggest low for Die Roten, as they were knocked out in the round of 16 by Liverpool.
Corentin Tolisso believes that this year, Bayern can go deep in this competition. Speaking to Sky Sports, Tolisso said that the current squad has the right amount of quality, and depth to win Europe’s most prestigious trophy.
"“In any case, the title is possible. We have an excellent squad. If we have no injuries, we can have a say in all competitions.”“With the team, we can go very far in the Champions League and I think the title is feasible. Every player dreams of winning CL. Bayern has not won it since 2013. I think it’s time to win it again.”"

Die Roten has made some high profile signings this summer to bolster the squad. The defensive problems have been addressed by signing Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard. Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic are the notable additions in the attacking department.
Kovac will be expected to do better in this competition compared to last season. The Croatian needs to find the right balance in attacking and defensive approach against the top clubs in Europe. The two games against Tottenham Hotspurs during group stages will be a good test for Die Roten.
Tolisso will have a big role to play for Bayern this season. After a promising debut season for Die Roten, Tolisso endured a nightmare 2018/19 season. The Frenchman started the campaign brilliantly. However, his season came to an end very quickly as he suffered a serious knee injury. He remained on sidelines for more than six months and returned to training in May.
Bayern has handled his injury carefully to avoid a relapse during the recovery process. He is now completely fit after gaining much-needed match rhythm during the pre-season tour. Tolisso has played for Die Roten in the Bundesliga games against Schalke and Hertha Berlin. The Frenchman will be looking to make up for the lost time by delivering consistent performances in midfield this season.
