Jerome Boateng is reportedly closing on Bayern Munich exit as Juventus show concrete interest in the German defender.
The transfer window in major European countries will conclude on Monday. Several clubs are still looking to improve their squad by completing last-minute transfers. Bayern Munich is unlikely to sign any player in the next 24 hours as the club is satisfied with their summer business.
However, there could be departures at Die Roten before the end of the transfer window. Jerome Boateng is most notably the only player in the current squad that faces an uncertain future at the club. Juventus has emerged as the possible destination for the German defender.
According to Sky Sports, Juventus has contacted Bayern to sign Boateng. The Italian club wants to sign a central- defender after Georgio Chellini suffered a serious injury, which could keep him out of action for more than six months.
Bild has gone one step ahead and insisted that Boateng is close to joining the Italian champions. The German defender was absent during today’s team photoshoot for Paulaner. The two clubs will have to sort the details of this transfer quickly as there is very less time left in the transfer window.

Bayern has completely changed the spin of their defense this summer. Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard arrived at the club from Atletico Madrid and VfB Stuttgart respectively. After these two arrivals, Mats Hummels decided to leave Die Roten to join Borussia Dortmund. Uli Hoeness also advised Boateng to find a new club to get regular gametime this season. Boateng insisted that he is ready to fight for his place in the starting lineup, though.
The German defender delivered impressive performances during the pre-season friendlies. He started in the DFL Supercup defeat against Dortmund. Since then he has found himself on the bench as Niko Kovac has made Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez as his first choice center-back pairing.
Fenerbahce was linked with Boateng at the end of last month. However, a move to Juventus will be ideal for the German at this point of his career. Serie A will also suit Boateng’s style of play, and he is likely to get a considerable amount of gametime in Turin.
Bayern will be happy to offload Boateng before deadline day. Die Roten has reportedly lowered the transfer fee demands for the German defender. Moreover, this move will benefit all the parties involved in this transfer.
